Dr. Hirase is currently the professor in center for translations Neuromedicine in university of Copenhagen. Dr. Hirase received his PHD degree in Neuroscience, in department of anatomy and developmental biology, university of London, UK, back in 1997. He worked as postdocotoral fellow in Rutgers university, Newark, NJ (1996-2002), and in Columbia university, new York, NY. Dr. Hirase become the principal investigator, in RIKEN center for brain science in 2004. His current major Research Focus is, A focus on astrocytic signaling and its impact on neural circuit dynamics and behavioral performance. Since 1996, Dr. Hirase has published over 60 papers in the journals including Science, Neuron, Nature communications, PNAS, etc.
