Dr. Laurie Kilpatrick is the Assistant Dean for Clinical Research and a tenured Professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She holds faculty appointments in the Center for Inflammation and Lung Research in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Inflammation, the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery, and the Thrombosis Research Center. She was President of the US Shock Society from 2021-2022. Current work in her laboratory focuses on three areas: 1) Regulation of neutrophil-endothelial interaction and control of neutrophil migration in sepsis patients employing organ-on-a-chip, human ex vivo data, omic, and in silico models; 2) Identification of neutrophil phenotypes in sepsis and the role of different immune cell phenotypes in disease pathology; and 3) translational research evaluating the use of anti-Protein Kinase C-δ therapies for the treatment of sepsis.
