		Dr Ruperto received his degree in medicine in 1990 from the University of Pavia, Italy, where he 
	
	
		trained under the supervision of Professor Martini. He spent two years in Cincinnati, OH under 
	
	
		the supervision of Dr Giannini learning clinical trials and consensus methodologies, and 
	
	
		professional experience through roles as a medical assistant and through completing a Paediatric 
	
	
		Rheumatology Research Fellowship. While in the USA he undertook a Master’s in Public Health 
	
	
		(MPH) at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA and won the Senior Rheumatology 
	
	
		Scholars Award in 1996. He was awarded the 2005 Gerolamo Gaslini Prize for Excellence in 
	
	
		Research from the Gerolamo Gaslini Foundation. 
	
	
		In 1996 he co-founded the Paediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organisation (PRINTO, 
	
	
		www.printo.it), where he holds the position of PRINTO Senior Scientist. He has taken an active 
	
	
		role in the management of all PRINTO international research projects with over 42,000 data 
	
	
		collected from children with pediatric rheumatic diseases from over 350 centres in more than 60 
	
	
		countries. He has been the PI and project manager for several public and private grants. 
	
	
		Dr. Ruperto published over 360 manuscripts peer reviews on prestigious international journal 
	
	
		with the following metrics: h-index Google Scholar 85, citations 27853. Impact factor 2475.747. 
	
	
		Listed amont the top Italian scientists.
