Scott H. Sicherer, M.D., is the Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe professor of allergy, immunology and pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute in New York, USA. He is Chief of the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, and Medical Director of the Institution’s Clinical Research Unit.  His research interests, funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Food Allergy Research and Education, include numerous aspects of food allergy including: natural course, gastrointestinal manifestations, epidemiology, psychosocial and quality of life issues, diagnostics, prevention, modalities to educate physicians and patients, genetics and treatments. He is past chair of the Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee of the Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI), the Section on Allergy and Immunology of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and of the board of directors of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.  He served on the Board of Directors of the AAAAI (2018-2021).  He has published over 275 articles in scientific journals and has authored over 75 book chapters in major pediatric and allergy textbooks. He is Deputy Editor of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical ImmunologyIn Practice.   He has authored six food allergy books for the public, the most recent one entitled: Food Allergies: A Complete Guide to Eating When Your Life Depends on It (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2nd edition). Dr. Sicherer has been consistently recognized as among the top 1% of researchers in his field regarding the citation impact of his publications (by Clarivate).
