Dr. Nedergaard is a Professor at the University of Rochester and University of Copenhagen. She is the co-director of Center for Translational Neuromedicine. She holds the Frank P. Smith Professorship in the Department of Neurosurgery, with secondary appointments in the Departments of Neurobiology and Anatomy, and Neurology in university of Rochester. She obtained her pre- and postdoctoral education at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and at Cornell University Medical School. Her work is being funded by NIH and NSF. Dr. Nedergaard’s major research focus is on the glial disease and therapeutics. Nedergaard lab employs a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to the study of brain function in the healthy and diseased nervous system.
