This 1 ½ day program is intended for the multidisciplinary team: neonatologists, pediatric intensive care physicians, pulmonologists and other pediatric subspecialty physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and developmental therapists who provide care for preterm infants at risk for BPD or with established BPD.

COURSE OVERVIEW
With the advance in neonatal care and the survival of more premature infants, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD), also called Chronic Lung Disease of Infancy, has become a major source of mortality and morbidity for premature infants worldwide and in China. BPD is a significant risk factor for long term cardiopulmonary insufficiency and neurodevelopmental impairment. However, both prevention and management of BPD have been challenging. Coordinated, evidence-based multidisciplinary care, from the NICU to post-NICU discharge, is critical in achieving best long-term outcomes in this patient population.

This forum is intended for members of healthcare team who provide care for preterm infants at risk for or with established BPD. The forum will explore trends of BPD, new insights and key aspects of BPD management and discuss long-term needs of infants with severe BPD.

This forum is jointly sponsored by the Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center and Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Association. The conference is being organized by the Center for Newborn Care at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, with the support from the Newborn and Infant Chronic Lung Disease Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the BPD Collaborative. As the Chief and director of the Division of Neonatology and Center for Newborn Care at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center, and the program director of the Newborn and Infant Chronic Pulmonary Disease Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Huayan Zhang will serve as the course director of this forum. Speakers from the BPD Collaborative, Chinese Neonatal Network and other renowned international specialists will present the current insights and state-of-art management of BPD.
